The Need
In Gaza
The ongoing conflict in Gaza has created a devastating humanitarian crisis, leaving families in dire circumstances and children malnourished, struggling to survive. Decades of unrest and instability have eroded access to basic necessities, with food insecurity reaching alarming levels. For children—the most vulnerable members of society—this crisis has far-reaching consequences, affecting not only their physical health but also their ability to grow, learn, and thrive.
The Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza:
The numbers paint a grim picture. Over half of the children in Gaza suffer from malnutrition, a condition that undermines their development and leaves lasting scars on their future. Stunting and wasting, two severe forms of malnutrition, are alarmingly prevalent, threatening both the immediate and long-term health of these young lives. More than 70% of families in Gaza face chronic food insecurity, living with the uncertainty of where their next meal will come from. For many, hunger is a daily reality, compounded by the emotional toll of uncertainty and loss.
This winter, the crisis is worsening. Limited access to food supplies has made it harder than ever for families to secure even the most basic sustenance. Harsh weather conditions, coupled with dwindling resources and the scarcity of international aid, have only intensified the struggle. Families are left to contend with the brutal cold on empty stomachs, while children face another season of deprivation in an environment where hope seems increasingly scarce.
At Alfalah Salvation Foundation, we are determined to turn the tide. Our vision is clear: a future where no child in Gaza goes to bed hungry. We work tirelessly to ensure families have consistent access to nutritious, culturally appropriate meals that meet their dietary needs and preserve their dignity. We believe that by addressing hunger, we can help build stronger, healthier communities, where children and families can thrive and look forward to a brighter tomorrow. Our mission is not just to feed the hungry but to restore hope and create a foundation for lasting change.
Our Story
Our foundation’s story begins with an extraordinary act of humanity. Decades ago, our founder’s father played a critical role in the creation of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the aftermath of the Nakbah in 1948. He devoted his life to ensuring that displaced Palestinian families were counted, cared for, and provided with essential food rations.
For over 30 years, he stood as a symbol of hope and resilience for countless families. His unwavering dedication to preserving dignity and justice has inspired the foundation’s work today. At Alfalah Salvation Foundation, we carry forward his legacy by addressing the urgent needs of those suffering from hunger and insecurity.
